1. Regular verbs

Root = infinitive
Same endings for -ar, -er, -ir

bailar comer vivir
yo bailaría comería viviría
tú bailarías comerías vivirías
usted, él, ella bailaría comería viviría
nosotros bailaríamos comeríamos viviríamos
vosotros bailaríais comeríais viviríais
ustedes, ellos, ellas bailarían comerían vivirían

2. Irregular verbs

Same endings, irregular stem in all forms

hacer
yo haría
tú harías
usted, él, ella haría
nosotros haríamos
vosotros haríais
ustedes, ellos, ellas harían

hacer –> har-
decir –> dir-
querer –> querr-
caber –> cabr-
haber –> habr-
saber –> sabr-
poder –> podr-
poner –> pondr-
salir –> saldr-
tener –> tendr-
valer –> valdr-
venir –> vendr-

3. Would, could (with poder)

e.g. Bailaría. = I would dance.
e.g. Podría cantar. = I could sing.

4. To refer to the past with greater uncertainty.

e.g. ¿Quién sería? = Who might it have been?

5. In present hypothetical if sentences. (Explained fully in video on if sentences.)

e.g. Si tuviera más dinero, compraría una casa.
